Obama’s useless broadband program
ProPublica, the investigative reporting news outfit, has run a generally-ignored story about how the federal government’s program for extending broadband to rural areas is a big waste of money. (The waste began under Dubya but Obama has been touting it in his speeches, hence the headline.)
Among the revelations: The program wired an affluent Houston suburb built around a golf course. More than 90 percent of the loans go to areas that already have broadband.
