Economist: Blame government for housing bubble
The Economist magazine argues that in rush to find people to blame for the recession, one important villain is being overlooked — government. The magazine says government subsidies were an important factor in the housing bubble. “Governments’ obsession about home ownership has contributed as much to the meltdown as any moustache-twirling financier,” it argues.
